Are You Pet Friendly?

Yes, we allow well behaved dogs with prior permission and a small pet fee. We ask that guests acknowledge and agree to our pet friendly requirements which include no dogs to be left alone in any villa at any time, dogs not permitted in the bedroom and on any furniture.

Do you have an enclosed yard?

At present there is not an enclosed yard for visiting dogs.

Is there a breakfast option?

Shawwood Estate does not provide an option for a breakfast menu per se but we do offer breakfast platters.

Do you provide Food?

Yes – we do offer breakfast hampers, cheese platters and cheese/cold meat platters. These can be ordered online with a link in the Guest Portal. We send a link to the Guest Portal in the welcome email. As a small family business, we ask that your order any hampers at least 2 business days before your check-in date.

Do you have Wi-Fi?

Shawwood Estate has redundant internet connections – the primary internet is Starlink, and the backup is NBN Fixed wireless. Each villa has a private wifi SSID with no shared traffic on the wifi service.

Can we bring children?

Children are very welcome; we have both highchairs and port-a-cots for the little ones and fold out beds in most villas for the bigger kids. Please check your villa for details and message us if you would like the fold out beds (which are very comfortable – even for adults) set up ready to go, please message us and well make sure everything is ready.

Do any Villas have twin beds?

The Cottage has twin beds in the second bedroom.
The Winey has one King bed/bedroom that can be converted to twin single beds.

What size beds does the Villa have?

The beds in the main bedrooms are King size beds. In the Cottage the second bedroom has 2 single beds. In the winery one of the bedrooms can have the King size bed spilt into 2 king size single beds for families.

Do you have Smart TVs?

Yes, all TVs are Smart TVs.

Do the two-bedroom Villas have ensuites?

Yes, both bedrooms in the Winery have separate luxury en-suite bathrooms.

Can your hampers and platters cater for dietary restrictions?

Yes, we require 48 hours’ notice for hamper and platter orders, but we can cater to most dietary requirements.

Do you offer gift vouchers?

Yes, please contact us directly as we can certainly arrange a gift voucher for you.

What is your cancellation policy?

Our normal cancellation policy for direct booking via our website is a full refund if you cancel 14 days prior to check-in and a 50 per cent refund 7 days prior to check-in.

Does any Villa have a bath?

We did not put baths in the Villas as Mudgee has had a terrible drought in the not-so-distant past and as an environmentally conscious establishment we felt that we needed to be mindful of the restrictions of mother nature and living on the land outside the reach of town water.

How much water do you have at Shawwood?

We have a 100,000 litre tank for daily use. We have two 20,000 litre back up tanks and we have a further back up tank of 113,000 litres up at the house. So, in total 253,000 litres.

Can you drink your tank water?

You bet you can!! Fresh rainwater is the best! We also use a commercial dual osmosis filter before it gets to the tap in your Villa.

Do you use rainwater on the gardens?

No, we use grey water reticulated from the sewage system as well as bore water from our own bore.

Do you have 24 hour entry?

Yes – with your door entry code, guests can get automated entry to their Villa at any time.

Do you have Disabled Access facilities?

Yes – our Barrel Room has complying Disabled facilities. For further information please go to the Accessibility Section on our Website here.

What kind of disabled facilities do you have?

The Barrel Room has a sit down shower and handrails throughout the bathroom. There is a large concrete parking area located in front of the entrance with completely level access to an over width front door.

Do you have a guidebook?

Shawwood Estate has a Digital Guidebook that is tailored to each of the 5 Villas.

How do I get access to your Digital Guidebook?

An email is sent to each guest in the week prior to check-in with a link to the Digital Guide book to the Villa/s that are booked

What sort of farm activities do you offer?

At Shawwood Estate we normally have sheep, horses and alpacas in the paddocks. In addition, there are a number of peaceful walks in our 14-acre private woodland. The property is surrounded by farms and there are wonderful 360-degree views of the entire Mudgee Valley from the top of our hill.

For the adventurous there is fully provisioned firepit with wood and kindling ready to make a toasty fire and watch the colour of the sunset (during the cooler months)

What kind of animals are at Shawwood?

Normally you can see horses, sheep and alpacas at Shawwood Estate. There are wild animals that are also seen from time to time such as Kangaroos, foxes and hares.

In the week leading up to your check-in we will send you a message with all the details to make your stay as enjoyable and hassle free as possible. This includes all the fun activities in Mudgee, points of interest plus the details of your entry code and Digital Guidebook.
