Shawwood Barrel Room

Really lovely property. We used the fire pit at the top of the hill and it was great. The property is extremely well cared for and the owners are fastidious, also great communications. Highly recommended.

My young family absolutely loved staying in the Barrel Room at Shawwood Estate. We will hands down stay again if visiting Mudgee. The accommodation was perfectly set up to make for an easy and comfortable stay for us. We wanted to maximise our stay on the property by cooking our own meals which was very easy to do with the full sized fridge and freezer, BBQ, oven, stovetop, microwave, toaster, kettle and coffee machine, cookware, and dishwasher. We were also able to do a load of laundry with the washer-dryer. Our young kids enjoyed seeing the two friendly horses on the property and feeding them an apple. We sat out on the serene patio and enjoyed our morning coffees and evening drinks. While we didn’t use the fire pit, we did drive up to the top of the hill a couple of times and enjoyed the beautiful views. The property is also very close driving distance to several fantastic wineries - Bunnamagoo being our favourite. A great brewery - Small Batch Brewery - was a little further up the road, with a playground for the kids. The property was only a short drive to town as well, which was convenient. 10/10 stay, we loved it!
