Shawwood Estate's wine maker is Craig Bishop. He one of the owners of Shawwood Estate and manages the vineyard as well.

"The quality of the wine is ultimately linked to quality of the grape so I believe a winemakers responsibility starts with the growing of the grape" Craig said.

Craig's affiliation and interest in wine started when did his degree in Agricultural Science from 1981 to 1985. Whilst Craig has been involved in other business ventures since that time, his interest and skills development in viticulture and oenology have been a real passion.

"Everyone has an opinion about wine, and each persons taste and comments about a wine is valid to them. My goal is to make a wine which I believe compliments the food styles available in Australia and which my close friends and I enjoy drinking. Obviously we need to be aware of industry trends and opinions of experienced tasters, but ultimately they are not our customers" Craig says.
